According to the old faithful Webster's Dictionary:
determined
DETERMINED, pp.disciplined
1. Training to act in accordance with established rules; accustoming to systematic and regular action; drill.
2. Subjection to rule; submissiveness to order and control; habit of obedience.
""Discipline aims at the removal of bad habits
and the substitution of good ones,
especially those of order, regularity, and obedience."
--C. J. Smith.
"Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
--Philippians 3:12-14
This is my New Year's Resolution.
I am determined to be more disciplined:
1. In my walk with the Lord--I want to know Him, really KNOW HIM, this year!
2. In my daily routine, to have a schedule and stick to it--household tasks, meals, kiddos, everything
3. In setting reasonable goals for myself for each day, week, month and year, and then plan and organize to carry them out (and for my kiddos, too)
4. In keeping "First things FIRST" and making sure that all the "things" that crowd into my day are on the Lord's agenda for me, too.
5. In giving of myself to others--at home, at church, and in my neighborhood.
6. In being a better witness to the lost and dying world all around me
7. In devoting more time to my hubby, kiddos, and in thanksgiving
Pray for me as I strive to serve Him better in 2011!
